About

John HanleyJohn’s career spans over 25 years earning him the reputation as one of the United States premiere sports artists. John graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago and quickly discovered his passion by combining his love of sports with his artistic talent. John is perhaps best known for his magnificent ability to portray the uncanny likeness of a professional athlete. His portfolio includes sports legends such as Ernie Banks, Anthony Rizzo, Robin Yount, Ron Santo, Paul Konerko, Gale Sayers, Greg Maddux, Frank Thomas and most recently Derek Jeter. His art is on display at Wrigley Field, Busch Stadium, US Cellular Park, and Comerica Park. John also created two children’s books, “Classic Cubs” and “W is for Wrigley”. John’s paintings come to life with an intricacy that jumps off the canvas using vibrant colors and a mixed media of oil and acrylic.

John considers himself lucky to call what he does work. In addition to professional athletes his client list includes professional sports teams, such as The Cubs, The White Sox, The Bears, The Blackhawks, Denver Broncos, Detroit Tigers, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Tampa Bay Rays, and the Arizona Diamondbacks. John has also been commissioned by various sports associations, the Hall of Fame, the motion picture industry, several large national advertisers and various book and magazine publishers.
